Street Canvas

I have constantly heard negative things about Kitchener going around. I’m not sure if this is just the younger generation or if everyone feels it. I personally think Kitchener is a awesome place to grow up. I think the people who don’t like it are the close minded ones who don’t even go looking for things to do. Although some things to do may not be in Kitchener, it is the perfect city surrounded by the balance of country and city life. Looking more into Kitchener there is some art i have become more keen of in recent times. This being the Graffiti downtown. If you take a walk in the downtown alleys you will find a number of outstanding paintings done many of which are supported pieces of art. One whole side wall off Ontario street is painted beautifully to show the Aboriginal Culture based in Kitchener. The ones i fancy the most are still unknown to me if this artist was allowed to do it. If you ‘ve been downtown youve probably seen these paintings. Yes I’m talking about the Bears of K-Town

My Favourite wold have to be the brown bear. This painting is much larger and I like the use of neutral colours. The bear looks to be sad, or even lost. In my opinion it gives an inside to how everyone feels. It maybe not be always but I think at some point in life you will feel lost. It’s the one emotion I know I will always stumble back onto. I don’t think a city can have just one important piece. I think it needs to have everything for for you to appreciate the creativity that buzzes around this city. Just because this pieces appeals to me immensely doesn’t mean it will appeal to others. We can’t judge what’s good and bad. It’s art, you take it as you see it in whatever kind of light you want to shine on it. I would just like to thank the artist for sharing his talents and emotions.
